I don't want to be controlling and tell him not to drink, and i would be a hypocrite because I have the occasional glass of wine, but I just always feel uncomfortable when he tells me he is drinking.

Logically, he is pretty responsible with alcohol, but it still bothers me that he will just have a few beers while watching tv or drink with his friends or that he enjoys the bar atmosphere because I just don't.
