New surroundings

I just accepted a new job with a company that involves me spending 6 months to a year in a new city. I am excited on one hand for the new challenges but not sure I am ready to drop everything and jump

Adella:
Whenever my parents ground me it last anywhere from like an hour to 3 days. Is that a normal amount of time or is that less than normal?

Me and my friend are both 13 (close to 14) if that matters.

I got 3 days for that and my parents closely monitored everything I did for a while.

That and one time when I lied about where I was.

I've never done anything like that, I think being a few minutes late for curfew is about the worst I've done.

For her it's just major things like sneaking out.

I was late for curfew by 3 minutes once and that was 3 days in my room and doing a lot of chores.

Yeah, I only get grounded for a few hours or days, but my parents do it for every little thing.

I always feel like my parents are way more strict than hers are though.

She told me that that's not even really being grounded and my parents are cool if that's all they do.
