Are my parents normal? This is only touching on a tiny part of what my parents are like but I just want to know if this is normal?

Gradually his outbursts would get worse and worse.

The cycle like that would continue every couple months.

He'd then yell or demean to demand our attention and he'd apologize and we would say OK.

Him stropping in, we'd ignore him.

Ashli:
It would start with us sitting in the next room listening to our mother beg him to apologize.

His apologies were never sincere.

Ashli:
Sometimes it would involve an exchange of money or promises to persuade us to into accepting his apologies.

Ashli:
These incidents would be followed by my siblings and I declaring that we wanted nothing to do with the man, followed with my mother breaking down and crying begging us to forgive him.

Ashli:
But it also meant that all the times he wanted to hit us just got built up in his anger and so there would be a particularly bad incident every couple months.
